IDPS, .rif, act.dat to make a .rap file - LordK - 07-10-2018

I was able to dump my console's IDPS and act.data to USB stick. Do I just copy them into a certain directory on RPCS3? Or will that not work?

In addition, how do I generate a .rap file with this information?

There is some info on Youtube but it doesn't quite address the issue. Those videos are more for getting it to work in the CFW PS3 itself.

I'd gladly make a guide on this stuff (i've learned a lot from the CFW scene just by learning how to dump my own games).

But anyway, I'm kinda stuck on getting my digital PSN games over to RPCS3.

Anyone got some quick advice?

You need RIF2RAP tool. Then you select your IDPS, ACT.DAT and RIF and it will generate a RAP file that you must place in exdata folder in RPCS3.

EDIT3: Finally figured it out.

Every time I try to download RE4 (the PSN PS3 version), it seems like my PS3 kicks me out. And it usually happens around the same files too. So, I can't seem to dump my NPUB titles via FTP connection. Is there a different way? This never happened with my backed up BLUS titles that were in my /GAMES directory.

Really appreciate all the help you've given so far!

EDIT4: Since I can't seem to get my RE4 PSN title over, is there a way to dump it for its .pkg file and just install it on the emulator that way?

I'd really like to make a quick Youtube guide of this stuff for anyone else who is wondering.

Use PS3 Proxy Server by CF3B5, connect your PS3 to your PC using that Proxy. It will sniff the traffic coming from your PS3.
Then start the download of what package you want to get the URL for. The URL will be caught by the program, then you can download the package on PC.

I got the proxy set up. I entered my own PC's IP address into it and set it to PS3 mode

I set up the FTP connection with FileZilla

but I still can't download em (Resident Evil 4 in particular is trouble).

Am i doing it correctly? I'm not sure what you mean by "start the download of what package you want to get the URL for"

Do you mean by this that i have to go to a specific web page? I've just been doing a wired transfer between me and my PC thus far (now with the proxy, but, it's not "sniffing the traffic" as you say)

When you connect your PS3 to the CF3B5 Proxy Server there's a log window. When you start a download of a package in PSN on your PS3, the Proxy's Log catches the Package Direct URL.

You don't need FTP for anything in this case.

Not sure how to configure the IP's.

Do I enable the "Use Proxy Server" on my Ps3?

I can configure my PS3 to have it's own IP address via DHCP.

I can also do this with my own PC.

So with the PS3Proxy tool, do I enter my own PC's, IP address into it?

I'm guessing I create a Proxy on my PS3, and give THAT an IP, and then use that IP in the PS3Proxy tool; but the only problem is, for some reason; I won't pass the connection test when I enable "use a proxy server" on the PS3.

This could be that it (the proxy server) is not getting an IP address from DHCP. I also don't have access to my DHCP; so I don't know what IP addresses are available or unavailable.

I might be overblowing this. Any advice?

Maybe it's easier if you follow step by step guide, it's really small and simple

I've already dumped the whole PS3 app section from my country to test and it works (only Crunchyroll requires a license to be dumped if I recall correctly, all other apps don't require licenses).
