The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion [BLUS30087] - MasterTurkey - 06-08-2018

In game. Vulkan and ppu interpreter. Crashed several times. Finally got ingame and it crashed in the cell after a few minutes. I stopped trying after that.

rpcs3-v0.0.7-8650-efa501da_win64
LLVM recompiler FPU and ASMJT Recompiler SPU. Vulkan and write color buffers.

Great performance on my 6700K i7 @4.4Ghz and n1080 PC, constant 30fps. Graphics seem spot on and smooth. Able to scale all the way to 2160p.

Able to play quite a ways in. Made a character, played all the way through the initial quest up until the emperor is killed and you go into the sewers. Then it gets more unstable and will hard crash rpcs3 so it closes. For example, go into the sewers and search the first barrel you see, and it will crash rpcs3.

Note: in-game saves work fine, but you need to enable write color buffers for the save screenshots to look right.

Shame about the instability, because the game is really good on rpcs3 now.

Known issue: Exit the sewer and water doesn't render for about 5 minutes.
Well walk around and return to the area after letting shaders compile and you can even make the water appear before the 5 minutes. The point. Let the game load and compile the necessary information.

There are no RPCS3 bugs that break this game. I was able to become the champion of the arena, clear 4 to 5 gates of oblivion. I was able to practically finish all of the Shivering Isles quests.
Again my images are not supported and I haven't figured out why or how to upload them.

Game is fully playable

Can you make a full report for the game?

RE: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion [BLUS30087] - nalfy87 - 09-06-2021

I can also attest to this. I have been playing Oblivion for the last week and so far everything has been rendering properly. I am only around 20 hours into the game but everything seems to be working. The only problem I have encountered are a couple of crashes when exiting dialogue with some NPC's but thats about it. I will update when I have reached many more hours.

But can you guys make a report....

RE: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion [BLUS30087] - insamity666 - 12-10-2021

First time posting here, I'll do my best to make a create a good report, I have not finished the game yet.

The water bug only appears when using the async shader mode the first time, using the async shader mode with interpreter fixes the issue
even on first playthrough.

I have been playing at 1440p and I have no crashes to report so far, I'm right after "Breaking the siege of Kvatch"

I will keep you updated when I get further in the game.

Here are both preliminary log files for OpenGL and Vulkan, besides the much slower shader compilation OpenGL's experience is vastly the same as Vulkan's, so good news.

I also tried installing the Shivering Isles expansion from disk but the first thing that happens is that it asks you to eject the disk and insert the Oblivion game disk...
I'm not aware of a way to do this in RPCS3... (but that is going to be another forum thread)

I'm open to comments and suggestions concerning my tests.

Pictures in future posts, I forgot, but the video should do for now  Smile

Thanks for this. how did it go?

RE: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion [BLUS30087] - Darkhost1999 - 06-22-2022

In RPCS3 go to the emulation tab the select eject disc and then select insert disc now navigate to your expansion packs eboot.bin file and select that.
After booting and installing your expansion return to Oblivion and let someone know if the DLC content can't be read.

RE: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion [BLUS30087] - Kushu33 - 05-24-2023

I played trough this game with the 60 fps patch and it was near perfect with my 6950xt and 13600kf

the only 2 problems I encountered was the water not rendering when I got out the sewers (only the first time, when I fast traveled back, the water was there)

and the images of the save files was glitched but the save files were completely fonctional, I could save and load them

I think this game deserves a "playable" tag instead of "ingame"
