Emulation Issues - Libraries, Modules and Driver files related - Tegatana - 09-20-2017

Hello,

yesterday I successfully installed and configured RPCS3 - so far, so good.
My system AMD FX-8370, 16GB RAM + AMD RX480 (8GB GDDR5) should be capable of titles I bought like Demon's Souls or Soul Calibur 5.

Because the open-source emulator requires some important DLL files, my question is here, where on my local system can I find them? Is there a list of all required and necessary files? Is it true, that I simply have to use "some files" from my video driver?

Furthermore I currently run RPCS3 with automatically loading of all required libraries (Settings -> CPU). Is there a list of libraries/modules, which should be manually enabled here?

Thanks for helping me out here. Keep in mind, that this is not a place to find any (illegal) download links. This is just a place to talk about and share information.

You don't, just install the software requirements on the website. The remaining DLLs come alongside the executable inside the zipped folder you download from the website.

No. All games should work with either Automatic or liblv2 loading modes.

FX-8370 is below average at best, it should be okay for some titles but don't expect much really.

Thanks. For my first emulation setup I had to copy some DLL files into the rpcs3 folder. That's why I thought, there might some extra files required.

In fact, my CPU isn't as good as an i7, but are graphical glitches and crashes really affected by the processor? I double-checked my configuration and I also installed the latest drivers and rpcs3 version. Going to add some error messages of the loglater this day. There've been some issues related with RSX (access violation ) and Vulkan.

It's worse than an 4th/7th gen i5 and 8th gen i3 - this will affect performance greatly when the games need them (you can see that in Persona 5 cut-scenes for example). Graphical glitches may be driver related, happening on one vendor but not the other, but the type of CPU is usually only an issue on Performance.

That's a good point. Gonna check it out on other configurations with some more recent Intel selection.
Today I'll take a closer look into my rpcs3 settings. There are titles with no graphical glitches, like Yakuza 5, but in direct comprehansion, Demon's Souls has issues, with dynamic 3D rendering, so all 3D models with rag doll physics sometimes won't appear in the game. On Vulkan, it crashes at the training after going maybe 10 meters ingame around to the next area. On D3D, no dynamic 3D model appears, but it's more playable, because the game won't crash on training's level. More details and logs will be added in the right topics later this day.
