How the game looks like when running in-game.

Does it crash randomly for you? Have you tried Vulcan?

RE: Yakuza 3 [BLUS30494] - AshEmber - 03-14-2018

RPCS3 v0.0.5-6541-5f047034a Alpha | HEAD
Intel Core I5-6600k @ 3.50Ghz | 4 Threads | 15.96 GB RAM | AVX+ | TSX | GTX 970

The intro cutscene or audio has stutter. This is followed into the first cutscene as well.
The pause at second cutscene is fixed and it smoothly transition to next one until gameplay.
Game runs at 6-8fps on average, compared to v0.0.56500 there has been 2-3 fps improvement.

I haven't gone much further than meeting with Yuya.

RPCS3 v0.0.5-7404-72ba062b Alpha |
Intel Core i7-6700k @ 4.0Ghz | 8 Threads | 15.96 GB RAM | GTX 1070

Soft locks still happen every hour or so and some areas have low fps (mainly main cities or areas with a large group of enemies, basically caused by NPC density) however the game is confirmed able to be completed at least as far as the main story goes
I played up-scaled to 4K and it didn't seem to have any noticeable effects on performance or gameplay

Thanks a lot for finishing the game, when performance improves and it's more stable we can now move this to playable safely.

RE: Yakuza 3 [BLUS30494] - SonsofOcelot - 06-04-2019

Build 0.0.6-8180
Computer: Core i5-8600K (OC to 4.2ghz), GTX 1060 3gb, 16gb DDR4

The game runs ok when using PPU Interpreter (fast) and SPU ASMJIT. Other settings include "Load liblv2.sprx only", Lower SPU priority, SPU threads preferred set to 3 and TSX instructions enabled. If I attempt to switch to the PPU LLVM recompiler the game will randomly hang anywhere from 1-10 minutes into gameplay, but running under the interpreter the game does not hang.

Using interpreter cutscenes and smaller areas without a lot of NPCs pulls a solid 28-30 FPS while more densely populated areas slow to 14-18 FPS. I haven't tested in combat yet but will update shortly on that. Overall it's playable but the slowdowns make it not as enjoyable.

RE: Yakuza 3 [BLUS30494] - KvngJ - 06-30-2020

RPCS3 v0.0.10-10594-5867b3b7 Alpha | HEAD | Firmware version: 4.84
Intel® Core™ i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz | 6 Threads | 7.92 GiB RAM | TSC: 3.696GHz | AVX+ | FMA3 | TSX

Game has improved on performance since late 2019, tried to turn down the SPU Threads to 1 from Auto since it used up my CPU alot, like alot, and while there were issues with the intro slowing down and despite after pressing start making the audio crackle for a bit, fights can reach a stable 30 fps if not in the city's open area (long battle, etc). Crashes are still very around, and there are still performance issues in general with moving around in the city, on top of the fact that the game uses up my CPU like crazy, but i'd say that with some fixes added in, this game can be moved into Playable status.

Tried this out today. Played for about almost 2 hours, about half of that is videos.. :/ . I believe I'm out of the tutorial. Dunno. It seems like it keeps adding more and more as I play.
I'm terrible at this game, but it is one I wish I had played when it came out. Seems to play pretty good for me..
I used the WIKI settings, except I also changed the ZCULL Accuracy = Approximate (Fast), under GPU.
