RE: Controller not being detected - llamadog - 07-14-2017

Greetings,

I have tried using xinput (wireless xbox 360 controller official), a DS4 controller and a DS4 controller using DS4 windows and nothing seems to be working. Please keep in mind I have set the padmapper to xinput and ds4 respectively when needed.

When I am in the controller config screen and click on one of the buttons everything functions as normal. However when I hit a button on the controller nothing happens.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Same here. No combo of controller settings works at all Sad

Dualshock 4 USB, Dualshock 4 BT, and then both of these as xinput via DS4>Xinput mapper.

If you're using a DualShock 4 just use the DualShock 4 option? You can uninstall DS4 Windows and other irrelevant software, DS4 works natively.

Why would you map the controller to XInput in the first place when there's a native option?

After selecting the Input boot the game and make sure the controller's light bar stays blue after the game starts loading. If it does, then it's working, otherwise it's not properly connected. Other 3rd party software may be on the way or just needs to be plugged into another USB port.

I tried DualShock 4 & DS4 Windows , both works. no need to uninstall.

I use a program called ScpServer for the DS4. There is a version of it to the DS3

I'm kinda new to everything here and I have completely no idea how things work so please bear with me here but I wanted to ask if a really old Xbox 360 controller would work with the emulator.

I have a DualShock 4 and tried using it natively with RPCS3, it's not being detected. I've tried both Bluetooth and wired. The emulator just thinks I have my keyboard and that's it.

What do you mean by "just thinks"? You have to select the DS4 Input Handler, it won't magically be select if you just connect the controller. If you select it, then your Keyboard won't work at all on the game, even if DS4 also doesn't.

Make sure you don't have per game configuration overriding your main configuration, if you do, then configure your input on that per game configuration option (right click on game and clicking on configuration is per game configuration).

My apologies, I'd read every other part of the Quickstart Guide except for I/O (figures). I didn't realise I had to set the handler there, thought it was just in the dropdown where you configure the keyboard (since it has a greyed-out box with "Controller to Configure", I thought something was wrong). The controller works now if I use it wired and connected via Bluetooth to my computer directly. Trying to use it with the official PC Wireless Adaptor causes RPCS3 to crash; however, I see that this issue has already been brought up on Github, so disregard that.

Thanks for your help! Just by saying, "DS4 Input Handler" you clued me into the fact that I was missing something.
