I'm really intrigued by the development of this but no where near as technically minded as some of the talented people here, I'm just wondering if anyone has made like a simplified 'Road map' of the process so I could see how far the emu has come and what major/minor points still need to be worked on/started/polished.

But it's not updated open. You can judge the progress by this forum and discussion in (half-)playable games. There was some good progress with Silent Hill HD Collection.
