go to rpcs3 window
view
view debugger
drop-down list in top right
pause the SPU threads 0 3 5 at the bottom of the list
make sure their tag mask is at 0x80000 when you pause it
or the game will freeze
run them again if they're not at 0x80000
your framerate should improve significantly
Thanks!,Doubled my FPS
14 FPS average now!,7 FPS Minimum,30 FPS Max.

Don't know why but that fix lowers my fps instead of increasing it. From a 12-15fps (in big or crowded areas) to a nearly static 8fps... did I do something wrong? Or is this not very effective on a i7? (I recently changed from an old i3 to an old i7, lol - was short on funds but I needed the hyper threading for some of my work...). Anyway, I do get 30fps in lots of places (the main build gives me up to 45-50fps, but as we all know, it crashes too much).
**Windows 10, intel i7 2600, 8GB ram, nvidia GTX970
Make sure you disable the SPU threads 0,3,5 and not the PPU threads,
If it still doesn't work for you then i will post a quick detailed video about how to do it.
Also notice that without that fix i had much lower FPS than i should have, this probably fixed a performance bug with my FX CPU,
So you should get less improvement than me.

DO NOT pause threads.
Use the special build linked here: https://rpcs3.net/blog/2017/07/13/persona-5-is-now-playable-in-rpcs3/
RE: Persona 5 [BLUS31604] - Beltory - 07-17-2017
Many area's play between 20-30fps (except for the towns which hovers between 13-19fps)
Great progress!

You ripped the game with multiman or similar software. You need to join back the splitted files.

i got freeze on this scene, anything wrong with my setting?
RE: Persona 5 [BLUS31604] - FibYar - 07-19-2017
I'm using a special build from a link and I have a some problem - I don't know why but game framerate is locked on 30 fps. In the game itself it is not a problem. The main problem is video cutscenes. They are should be played at 60 fps and at 30 they are very slow and the sound is very sluttering.
I tried to use framelimit "auto" and "60" (for both emulator and the game) - no luck, still 30 fps lock.
There is no such problem in main emulator (not special build).
Is there any solution?

Other people already seem to have run into this problem, but nobody ever attatched a log file, so I'll do that.
Running the build linked in the blog post and using the recommended settings, the game does not boot. I am just shown a black screen, with a static FPS counter (it doesn't go up nor does it go down). The actual FPS seems to be random and changes every time I boot, though it's usually around 27.
Looking at the log file, every boot it just writes the same message forever:

I have an i5 4690 and a GTX 660 in this PC (yeah, I need a new GPU, I know)

No real errors there, just random output you quoted.
Doesn't seem to have a real error there. Maybe a bad rip?

The problem is not the emulator but something you did, maybe your game is corrupted.
