Getting the same thing seemingly at random, I'll play for a hour or 2 sometimes longer and it just happens. Then after restarting the emulator is does it constant. I end up having to wait till I get home from work and a emulator update is downloaded and installed before it works properly again. It's madness that it makes no sense like this. I cleared caches and it seems to only make the game run worse afterwards, why? Hope someone has some insight because I'm losing my sanity and sleep over this lol.

Same here, except sound is even better with the 02/01/18 update...

It seems that this game doesn't like the DS4 controller. When using a DS3 via SCPToolkit it'll detect the controller but not so for the DS4 without any third party program like DS4Windows.

Edit: Btw this goes in game with v0.0.5-6802 (05efa7d9) Alpha [2018-05-20] with really good performance and sound but broken visuals

I'm late to the party here but I found a temporary fix. 

After you boot the game, select "Pad" on the dashboard and then click on your specific controller under "Handlers" even if its already selected. Close out of the window (you don't need to hit "Apply" unless your controller wasn't already selected). Go back into the game, press start, and you'll be good to go.

I'm using a DualSense controller, but I imagine this fix will work for the DS4, as well. Hopefully someone can make a patch so the game automatically recognizes the controller.

Make sure your gpu drivers are relatively new, and change wakeup delay on advanced tab to 200us it can help. Otherwise if your performance on OpenGL is still good enough to play you can use that.
I'll ask some people to test stability.

Is the same, i tested other games and all fine, full playable! seem this problem is only with this game ? Do you know any other settings that i can use ??? OPENGL IS RUNNING IN 15 FPS , and my CPU is ryzen 5700G is powerful enough i guess to play ? you know any other config in OPENGL that makes this game playable ???

PS: gone back to  472.12 NVIDIA DRIVERS graphic card and now the game don't crash anymore in VULKAN settings. Somehow was a problem with the new drivers!

Seems you need to download old versions of RPCS3, the new ones is crashing i dont know why they updated various other games and another gone incompatible with this updates!

After the mission "Sonny's War" the game becomes "unplayable". This problem keeps repeating after shutting down the game, emulator and so forth.
Textures de-load, pressing start menu to go to map or any other section doesn't work (the game "autopresses" circle, immediately backing out and making anything in the menu inaccessible), trying to hijack cars does nothing because character now only points gun at them - can't enter cars, driving to the edge of such de-loaded roads will make your vehicle disappear, walking past the edge will make you fall into black emptiness and die, infinite loading on "ICED!" screen.

In the first picture, the last bridge before turning to the Corleone compound road, is where the textures first de-load and game shows its breakage. 
Second picture I drove back towards the long bridge where I drove down from and the textures have vanished from this side as well. 
Third picture just shows the drop in the void before dying and (a probable) infinite loading.

The game worked basically without any faults for 24 in-game hours, just some slight flickering of lights through buildings but even that might've been fixed. There were no crashes, no crackling sounds, nothing. On a side note, I've taken over all businesses, shops, warehouses, compounds etc. so there are no enemies besides cops and trucks outside of missions, but hardly believe that to be the reason.

EDIT: So after half a year I decided to try again. The "fix" is simple, don't drive to the compound after the mission ends, from the wharf hub, but find the nearest phone and fast travel.

EDIT2: After again more than a year I fired up the game, it has become apparent that it is this exact spot in the game that is faulty, for whatever reason. It is not dependent on the progress or missions, just the part of the map. I am doing 100% on missions and activities, the last Contract Hit is situated near this place. Same bugs appeared, that is, menus not working and ultimately textures missing, cars dropping from the bridge, infinite loading.

After 2 years the problem still persists. Same Vulkan error, just happening random out of the blue. Sometimes it take 5 minutes, other times it takes an hour.
Happening more often on newer drivers than older drivers. Also happens on newest.
