Thanks for the advice. I didn't know those setting were 'weird' because they were just ones that worked well in older builds as seen here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUQJ66eOLoI. I'll have to do more testing to see if there's any patterns for why the emulator 'loses files' because it still happens pretty randomly whenever I play. I've tried going to different parts in the game (beginning, middle, and endgame) with save files but it still occurs on a frequent basis. It could be in isolated case with my setup though. It's possible others don't run into these issues. I disabled WCB and noticed no performance changes right away. Changing the threads to 1 and 2 degraded performance in the lobby area by 10FPS (25 --> 15) so I kept it on Auto. I recorded an example of what I experience that makes it impossible to finish the game. Spoilers: https://youtu.be/Kr0T3JKJcI4 So in terms of performance, it's definitely playable and I haven't noticed any graphical issues so far! In terms of an enjoyable experience though, I'd go with Ingame. rpcs3-v0.0.5-6579-a35bcb13 is currently the latest build that will get past Intro. E.X. Troopers has regressed to Loadable starting from Build rpcs3-v0.0.5-6590-887ea43e_win64. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Asinine - 03-26-2018 Alright, I'm going to move this back to ingame for now until it can be confirmed the above issues are fixed. Thanks for the detailed information! If you do want me to check an area of the game, feel free to PM me a save file. I'm surprised disabling Write Color Buffers didn't help performance for you, SPU thread settings can largely depend on the game and your CPU some may need more than others I do encourage experimenting a bit with it if a game is running slow. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Etokapa - 04-23-2018 Build: rpcs3-v0.0.5-6675-bd1d4de42 Status: Regressed from Ingame to Intro. Silky smooth 60FPS logos and intro video, but freezes before it ever loads the start screen. RPCS3 gave me an abnormally large 5-MILLION-lines-long log for playing roughly 1 minute. Most of the 551MB log consists of {PPU[0x1000017] Thread (decodeProc) [0x008f9d60]} sys_vm: sys_vm_lock(addr=0x20340080, size=0x10000). Stacked mode was enabled. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Asinine - 04-26-2018 Lol this game sure likes to regress... can you find what build caused the issue and write up a issue on github? RE: E.X. Sorry for the delay, but I've managed to narrow down the build when it broke. From the Compatibility List, 6697 still works and then the next build, 6718 brings the game down to Loadable. The most current build at this time is 6815, which is also Loadable. 6573 Ingame - 60FPS menus, 30-60FPS Lobby, 40-60FPS Missions. Will lose files randomly until it hangs. 6579 Ingame - 60FPS menus, 30-60FPS Lobby, 40-60FPS Missions. Will lose files randomly until it hangs. 6590 Loadable - 60FPS logos and intro video, but freezes before it ever loads the start screen. 6660 Ingame - 60FPS menus, 30-60FPS Lobby, 40-60FPS Missions. Will lose files randomly until it hangs. 6675 Intro - 60FPS logos and intro video, but freezes before it ever loads the start screen. 6692 Ingame - 60FPS menus, 30-60FPS Lobby, 40-60FPS Missions. Will lose files randomly until it hangs. 6697 Ingame - 60FPS menus, 30-60FPS Lobby, 40-60FPS Missions. Will lose files randomly until it hangs. 6718 Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. 6815 Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. 6845 Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. 6888 Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. 6955 Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. 7005 Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. I don't know if there are any github Issues on this already and I don't want to make it worse by making dupes on the tracker. I just post threads here in the forum in hopes that they help with fixing things and let others know what worked and didn't work for me. =/ Any help would be appreciated. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Asinine - 05-24-2018 If you're sure that 6718 made the game loadable then create a new issue (there other issues from this PR were all closed) and tag " #4504 " Write something like "E.X Troopers Regressed to Loadable after #4504" in the title and make sure to tag the #4504 Pull request again in the comments. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Etokapa - 07-14-2018 Build: rpcs3-v0.0.5-7096-46abe0f3_win64 Status: Loadable - White Screen, 60FPS. I can't provide a log because RPCS3 will always freeze whenever the Stop button is pressed. CPU: LLVM Rec | LLVM Rec | Load liblv2.sprx only Enable thread scheduler | Enable loop detection | SPU Cache | Auto | Safe | Enabled GPU: Vulkan | 16:9 | Framelimit Off | Anisotropic Filter 16x | 1280x720 | Resolution Scale 100% | RST 16x16 Audio: XAudio2 | Downmix to Stereo RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Asinine - 07-15-2018 Likely due to issue with new qt dlls and not related to the game, download 7088 and copy qt folder AND qt dll's in the main rpcs3 folder from 7088 onto new build replacing the files. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Etokapa - 07-15-2018 Thanks. I tried a hybrid combination of v7088 Qt DLLs and the v7101 exe like the CompatBot recommends, and I got the same result: The game is still Loadable as expected, but RPCS3 does not like when the Stop button is pressed and will freeze. On the plus side, I got a log file out of it this time. RE: E.X. Troopers [BLJM60528] - Asinine - 07-15-2018 dll issue was fixed so need for that anymore in new builds. Try to find where the game regressed if you can, just replace rpcs3.exe when downgrading to make it easier. |
