I was pleasantly surprised to find out that RPCS3 also emulates PS1 games.  I've been playing MGS1 until the point where it prompts me to insert disc 2.  How exactly is that accomplished on this emulator?

On my own I figured out how to switch controllers to fight Psycho Mantis.  I can't figure this one out, though.

- thank you
RPCS3 doesn't emulate PS1 games itself, it runs PS3's PS1 emulator, which then emulates PS1 games.

You can't swap disks on ps1emu yet. It's recommended that you use a proper PS1 emulator such as Duckstation.

For what it's worth, the emulation works very well.  Zero crashes.  Too bad about the disc swap thing.  Looks like I'll have to start over Sad  Had fun on RPCS3 for MGS2 and MGS3.

Thank you.
ps1emu is pretty bad when compared to actual open-source emulators. Not crashing is the least, since Sony uses it for PS1 classics on console. We just added support for it for curiosity's sake, no one should ever be running an emulator inside an emulator.

Yeah you're right.  I just think it's fascinating.  You guys have actually digitized a physical piece of hardware.  Well...except for that eject button.  Lol I'm just kidding.  Anyway, it hits the processor pretty hard, but plenty of headroom on my 3600xt.  Besides, Duckstation...it's such a stupid name.  I can't take it seriously.

Btw technically aren't you emulating an emulator already?  Thought a Type 1 hypervisor sat between the OS and bare metal on the actual PS3.  It's all so complex that I'm thoroughly impressed with you and your group.  Keep it up Smile
