Black screen only after starting a new game.

Windows 10 1903, Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX 2080, 16GB RAM

The training facility runs and works brilliantly, and so does the demo that triggers if the player doesn't press start in the intro screen (the demo is 3D, not a video), even though there is an infinite loading when the game attempts to get back to the title screen.
Trying to start a match or do anything beyond the main menu results in a black screen.
Resolution scaling does work and fixes the weird edges
