Full Version: Do dual core intel processors typically run RPCS3 poorly?

Hello, all.

I've been playing around with RPCS3 lately in my system:
Intel G3258 @ 4.2GHz, AMD R9 280, 8GB DDR3, Windows 10, latest recommended AMD GPU drivers

I am able to run Soulcalibur II at full speed but Soulcalibur IV lags horrendously in the menus and eventually hangs so I can't even get to a fight.  This is the same with OpenGL and Vulkan and I've tried toggling several parameters to no avail.  Others users have reported that the game runs well for them, at least over 30fps.  For additional general reference, I am able to run MK8 on Cemu at full speed in single player mode.

Realizing that RCPS3 utilizes more cores than Cemu and that SC IV is a more demanding game than SC II, it's still worth asking: are my results expected because of my under-powered CPU or are there perhaps some settings that I need to tweak for this specific game?

Regards.
Yeah, RPCS3 runs poorly on any dual core CPU. You'll want at least a good quad-core CPU to get started.
Alright. I'll have to wait until I do my upgrade then. I assume that 4 physical cores would better for RPCS3 than 2 cores with hyperthreading but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thank you for your reply.
