Hi,

because i want to buy new hardware i have a question:

What makes more sense for running - not recompiling - ps3-software?

A cpu with highest GHz or a cpu with many cores.

In other words, does rpcs3 spread ps3-threads to cpu-threads?

Many thanks for any answer.   Huh
You need a CPU with good IPC, architecture and many cores all together. RPCS3 multi-threads very well.

moar GHZ and cores doesn't necessarily relate to performance, you can have a CPU like FX-8350 which has 8 cores and 4.0GHz base clock, yet the CPU is garbage.

i7 8700K is recommended right now, good clock, good IPC and 6 cores 12 threads.

Thanks for your answer.

Because i use a notebook with an core i5-4200m
i think i will upgrade to an i7-7700HQ.
7700HQ is fine.

If you can wait for 8700HQ, even better. Has 2 extra cores and 4 more threads.

weren't all AMD CPUs before Ryzen Garbage?

AFAIK is Intel still better in Single Core Performance than Ryzen.
All AMD CPUs before Ryzen are bad nowadays, Piledriver and Bulldozer have garbage architecture and they're garbage.
What does that have to do with my comment though?
