I have a big problem with the xaudio_2 library in the emulator.

I see a lot of "solutions" but I couldn't fix it.

In another post in this forum, I see a solution who I can't use... Installing the Update (KB2533623) for x64 Systems, I have a Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1, because I have that version, I can't install the update, because is a update for the version without the Service Pack.

I can't do anything to fix it, that's the reason who I come here to entrust to you.

Please, admins, developers, check if are the Service Pack 1 who makes the Xaudio_2 library incompatible with the emulator.

Thanks for reading.

No problems with Win7 SP1, I use it.

Just install the software requirements on the website at https://rpcs3.net/quickstart

I use Win7 SP1 as well and also had the same problem he's having with Xaudio2, installing the software requirements on RPCS3 website alone won't fix it. To fix that issue he needs to install the requirements from the RPCS3 website and also update his Win7 with the latest updates, that's how I fixed the issue.

It would be nice if the requirements on the RPCS3 website is updated with this info.

You need to update your Windows 7 with the latest updates, having the SP1 alone is not enough. Once you update your Windows it will work right away.

If you are afraid of updating it for whatever reason then remember that a security flaw was found on Intel processors recently so you need to update your Windows to fix that security flaw anyways.
Of course you have to update your OS? Anyways, it works for me without a bunch of updates installed. SP1 is probably a must though.
Maybe hes have some missing files or corrupted. usually newest direct x runtime should help

If not use openal backend for the time being

Some peoples have this type of mentality: "If it works, why fix it?", I'm one of them so that's why I never considered in updating Windows 7 with the recent updates. I never had issues with any other emulators before and I have used and tested almost all emulators available that we have till now, I've been using emulators since 1997.

RPCS3 is the only emulator that gave me problems with the Xaudio2 thing so I was forced to update Win7 because of it. SP1 is definitely a must but the requirements on the RPCS3 website alone won't fix this issue even if you have SP1. Someone needs to update the RPCS3 website and tell them to also update their Win7 if they are still having issues with Xaudio2.

That's an option but OpenAL is not worth it, too many issues with that backend, it's also slow and buggy. Maybe that backend will get better over time but for the time being the easiest solution is to just update Win7 to fix Xaudio2.
