This is a realization I just had. While looking at the seemingly inverted shadows of Skate 3, I remembered a problem from a completely different, non-PS3 game - Grand Theft Auto V for the PC.
I encountered a bug with the shadows that caused the player shadow to turn into a giant black square. The same problem is occuring in Skate 3. When I enabled GTA V's MSAA feature, the shadows rendered normally.
Since the shadows of both games broke in the same way, I really think that implementing MSAA will solve Skate 3's broken shadows.
I could be totally wrong, but I thought I needed to give my two cents.
