Does KH2FM actually work for some people? I see people saying they play at 60 fps but I get huge lag spikes when I attack and after like 5 seconds. Vulkan and openGL it seems no matter what settings I choose I've tried them all and looked into several videos.

They are using cheats to make it playable, cheat engine mostly, atm game is still not playable
What is being done?
2.5 Final Mix seems to be very playable for me. I'm not using 60 fps CE cheat though.
So is anyone gonna help or they just gonna say its working or not working? If its working post settings. If people have to use a hack or something to play then please specify. Pointless to just say yes or no.

I have the same issue and narrowed it down to the certain 2 builds mentioned below that have this slowdown and not. I also took some videos for explanation on what OP is referring to.

Build 6396 has no slowdown after attacking/idle attack animation - Video: https://streamable.com/8yeck
Build 6402 has the slowdown present - Video: https://streamable.com/azrvg
The newest build as of this post(Build 6642) still has the slowdown present.

As OP has said, no matter of Vulkan/OpenGL and different settings, it's between these two builds that the slowdown was introduced. If the combat idle animation is cancelled (if player moves) then fps jumps back up to normal.
Also checking in with this issue. Not as drastic as Zaliaa, but with previous RPCS3 versions I didn't have this slowdown when attacking, no on the latest 0.0.4-6075 if I swing my FPS without fail will drop from 30 to 20, pretty jarring. Hopefully a fix can be made because previous versions had light shaft visual artifacts, so I'd rather not go back to that just for stability of framerate.
The game plays almost perfect for me. Consistent 30fps with very rare drops. I have almost 31 hours in the game. I don't use resolution upscaling because it causes the map to not look right and the information text when starting certain battles gets cut off too. OGL also runs smoother than Vulkan on KH games. Preferred SPU Threads can be Auto too, doesn't really seem to matter. Here's a video I made yesterday:

Here's my settings too

I had the exact same issue when i started playing KH2FM on 60 FPS, but managed to find a fix witch isn't really a fix..
basically, I just kept on playing until I got to the Sora part where I noticed that my frames stopped dropping from 60 so it's only when you play as Roxas that this is an issue.

If people are interested in the settings i use:

CPU:

- PPU & SPU = Recompiler
- Firmware = liblv2
- SPU Threads = Auto
- Additional Settings = Enable SPU loop detection

GPU:

- Renderer = Vulcan
- Aspect = 16:9
- Framelimit = OFF
- AF = 16x
- Rez = 1080p (resolution doesn't have any impact if your GPU can handle it. it can be what ever you want i got mine upscaled to 4K)
Don't set resolution to 1920x1080. Use 1280x720 for 99% of games then set resolution SCALING to whatever you want. 150% = 1080p 200% = 1440p 300% = 4k etc.
Setting resolution to 1920x1080 causes worse performance and it can also cause major issues in many games even potentially stopping them from booting.

The slowdown when attacking or standing in attack stance only ever affected Roxas in KH2 and it was fixed in newer builds as I reported in the relevant threads and on GitHub.
