Definitely allows for going in game:

Some Notes:
  • Running on interpreters (either fast or precise) causes significant slowdown, particularly in menus.
  • Running openGL causes a slowdown of ~2 Fps
  • run between 1fps to 30fps in the gameplay so far, slows down immensely when npc's are on screen of any kind.
  • Some minor graphical errors, green screen tint, and eagle vision is just a white screen with vignette siding: Green tint and Eagle Vision
  • struggles to get past loading screens.
  • weird audio bug when in the animus.
  • Audio often stuck behind video
  • Crashes occasionally when unpaused, and may glitch forcing the character to be unable to leave hiding places.

May be beatable, but severe lag prevents me from going that far.

In-game varies but extremely playable

it's fine and no crash or freeze at all

So, tried to get BLUS30089 running with default config.  The Log attached to Chidreams post is from NPUB31257 Saints Row IV, on a RPCS3 v0.0.10-10554-ab9cdc70 Alpha build...so not really helpful.

Currently I cannot get the game to launch at all, version 01.10, Firmware 4.87, RPCS3 0.0.13-11354-062c605e Alpha.  I'm hoping it's my machine or setup, otherwise this is a firm downgrade from Ingame to Nothing.

There's a secret step you have to do to actually get this to launch successfully.  You need to go into your dumped game directory, PS3_GAME\USRDIR, and create a folder called ASSASSIN_ISO.  I'm not sure if it's a Bug in the emulator (not allowing the game to create a folder it needs?) or in the dumping process.  Ideally, this would get fixed so that special knowledge isn't required.  https://github.com/RPCS3/rpcs3/issues/9397

I'm not sure my i5-9600k, which is overclocked to 4.7ghz, is powerful enough to play this smooth with the current emulator.  It's maxed out at 100%, and the framerate bounces between 60 and 20, usually hovering around 30.

Non-default settings I used to get things happy:
CPU/Preferred SPU Threads 2 - More than 2, and I was getting thread deadlocking.
GPU/Framelimit - Off
Audio/Audio Channels - Surround 7.1 - You'll get weird auto downmixing and pops otherwise.  I have a 7.1 system, and the audio popping and crackling went away when I switched to this.

I'd rate this as playable in it's current state, as the framerate is mostly at 30, and I haven't hit any progress blocking bugs yet.  I plan on playing all the way through, and going for full completion on everything, so if that's a success, I think we're in business.

Status: playable
I don't agree, sorry.

My system is more powerful than yours, ( I think)? 16 threads vs 6 (and RPCS3 is using ALL of them)
I have managed to overclock it to 4.6ghz (the Lenovo, razer hasn't got the cooling headroom) with an undervolt, which more than matches your 6 cores at 4.7., considering it's 11th gen.

It can happily go from 60 FPS to 35 then 19 and back, and I don't call that playable, as you feel it every time. It's jarring and uncomfortable - especially in outdoor areas with eagle vision on when it's crowded.
I still consider this "ingame".

It's very smooth on a PS3, locked at 30 FPS and it maintains it. I know cause I've played it on my PS3 with the original disk for many hours over the years.

You were right about SPU to 2 though, that helped and dropped CPU usage dramatically. I don't understand the SPU thing at all, no matter how many times I have read it, but all I can assume is it's different to cpu threads.

Personally I'd like this to be put back to ingame.

Something like skate 3, which is very resource hungry, locks at 60 on mine with never a stutter. My point is that when compatibility is at that level for AC, it will be 30 without dropping and rock solid.

PPS I flicked through your videos and I saw it there too.. FPS is all over the place... I understand that the game can be played without crashing - so to clarify, is that all RPCS3 needs to consider something "playable"? Or should the frame rate be stable?

Edit, I noticed the 9600K has TSX... that might be helping your lows a bit. Sadly intel removed it from 10th gen onwards.

Since the hardware bump August 30th 2024 the new hardware requirements exceed playability.
