The game fails on installation, so I made my own installer for it. Using it, the game now goes as far as the demo (intro). Here's the source code for my installer: https://github.com/isJuhn/Quake_Extract
I'll also attach an executable for those who can't or don't want to build it. Probably won't work on linux without a lot of porting.

Still has graphic issues for me can you do a video?
Seems to have no graphical errors now. All things appear as they should and the game play feels solid.
